About Bret Dales , M.D., FAAOS
Dr. Dales is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship-trained in joint replacement surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno. Dr. Dales completed his orthopedic residency at the San Francisco Orthopedic Training Program and his fellowship in total joint replacement at the New Mexico Center for Joint Replacement Surgery in Albuquerque.
He has been in practice since 1998 and he offers a wide range of care, both nonoperative and operative, for a wide variety of orthopedic conditions and injuries. His surgical expertise includes shoulder and knee arthroscopy, joint replacement and orthopedic trauma. With a special focus and advanced training in joint replacement surgery, Dr. Dales is an expert in both hip replacement and knee replacement. Some patients may qualify for a same-day joint replacement and often these patients are able to go home the same day and recover in the comfort of their own home.
Dr. Dales enjoys helping people get back to a full and active life. When people suffer from the pain of arthritis in their joints, their quality of life suffers. He finds that often fear plays a role in people waiting to address their arthritis pain. When they finally have a joint replacement, they get their life back. Helping people get back to their normal life without pain is the most rewarding thing about his work as an orthopedic surgeon.
He and his wife, Whitney, have two children. In his leisure time, Dr. Dales enjoys a variety of sports, including tennis, pickle ball, golf, cycling, skiing and weight training.
