About Julie Proctor FNP

Julie Proctor is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant  who began her practice as a registered nurse in the operating room in 1982 at Gresham Community Hospital, now known as Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center. There, she came to know and work with Dr’s Jeffreys Albright, Marc Davidson, Bret Dales and Derek McCammon as they began their practices in orthopedics. “I am so fortunate to have been able to work alongside these surgeons as they matured and excelled in both their careers as orthopedic surgeons and as husbands and fathers.” Julie says. She now has worked for Advantage Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic for over 5 years.

Julie has maintained close ties to her community through out her career as a nurse. She grew up in Boring, Oregon having attended high school in Sandy, OR. Always knowing that she wanted to follow in her Mother’s footsteps and become a nurse, she obtained her Registered Nursing degree from Mt. Hood Community College. After 10 years of working at Mt. Hood Medical Center  in the operating room, in 2000 she went back to school to get her bachelors degree (BSN) in nursing from Linfield College and an additional certification as a Registered Nurse First Assistant. Wanting to expand her role as a surgical nurse, in 2003 she again went back to school at Washington State University where she graduated in 2005 as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Julie has a vital role at Advantage Orthopedic & Sports Medicine. She works closely with the team of surgeons and collaborates with the healthcare teams in the pre-operative arena. “I feel that the Surgical Nurse Practitioner is an invaluable addition to the surgical team, ” Julie says. “My expertise in orthopedic surgeries  is essential to the team in the operating room.  Orthopedic surgery is complex and my time spent with the surgical staff, assisting them in the surgical planning and preparation, is crucial to a safe and effective surgery that delivers optimal patient outcomes.”

Julie met her husband in high school and they have been married for over 40 years. They are most proud of raising a beautiful and successful daughter.  Julie enjoys an active lifestyle, playing tennis, backpacking, golfing and hunting with her husband.
